THE DISPOSSESSED II
6 - 26 December 2024
Named after Ursula K. Le Guin’s novel, “The Dispossessed” examines a society shaped by the dominance of prevailing ideologies through the lens of property relations. In this exhibition, Mustafa Delioğlu turns his attention to individuals and their social and personal existence, bringing them to the forefront of his paintings without regard for hierarchy. Through these works, the artist seeks to present a pictorial analysis of an approach that offers conventional solutions in the face of the impossibility of utopias.
While an intellectual disorder that rejects every form of authority continues to assert its presence over the figure, it retreats from the edge of chaos to establish its own order. Devoting itself unconditionally to the sovereignty of the image, the exhibition invites viewers to reflect upon the delicate balance between individual freedom and the norms imposed by society.
Mustafa Delioğlu’s solo exhibition “The Dispossessed II” will be on view at GALA Gallery from 6 – 26 December 2024.
