Realism has occasionally led me toward works with surrealist qualities. My aim has always been to portray reality with both its beauty and its ugliness. I have neither idealized it nor claimed to create something superior to nature. I have never sought to deform nature, humanity, or life itself through a dreamlike perspective. The paintings in this exhibition are tangible expressions of the way I perceive the world, life, and people.
