THE DISPOSSESSED

4 - 23 February, 2024

Named after Ursula K. Le Guin’s novel, “The Dispossessed” examines a society shaped by the dominance of prevailing ideologies through the lens of property relations. In this exhibition, Mustafa Delioğlu brings to the forefront individuals whose social and personal existence he explores without regard for hierarchy. Through these works, the artist seeks to present a pictorial analysis of an approach that proposes conventional solutions in response to the impossibility of utopias.

While an intellectual disorder that rejects every form of authority continues to assert its influence over the figure, it retreats from the edge of chaos to establish its own order. By unconditionally surrendering sovereignty to the image, the exhibition invites viewers to reflect on the delicate balance between individual freedom and the norms imposed by society.
