Erkan Güler
The artist was born in Istanbul in 1975. In 1988, he received an award in the Yeşilay Inter-School Painting Competition. He graduated from the Department of Electronics at Trakya University in 1995, and completed his studies in the Department of Painting at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University in 2004. In the same year, he participated in the "4 Young Painters" exhibition organized by the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce and took part in the painting project for the Atatürk House in Şuhut, Afyon, under the coordination of Prof. Aydın Ayan.
In 2000, the artist participated in the Şile Municipality Breakwater Workshop. Between 2000 and 2003, he collaborated with Alinur Velidedeoğlu on the Article exhibition projects. In 2001, he took part in the 2nd Değirmendere Painting Symposium. In 2002, he participated in "Performance 119" at the Münster Academy of Fine Arts and, in the same year, received the First Prize in the Heart Foundation Painting Competition.
In 2005, he began working as a scenic painter at the Istanbul State Opera and Ballet, where he continued producing stage paintings until 2023. Between 2005 and 2009, he worked in artistic production, post-production, and technical art consultancy. In 2006, he received an Honorable Mention Award in the Beykoz Painting Competition.
In 2007, the artist completed the War of Independence Panorama for the Gemlik Military Veterinary School, for which he received a certificate of appreciation. In 2009, he contributed to a similar panorama project for the 1st Central Command of the Turkish Armed Forces in Istanbul and was again awarded a certificate of appreciation. In 2010, he won the First Prize in the Çanakkale Naval Battles Painting Competition.
In 2015, he participated in the Sagalassos Painting Workshop. He held solo exhibitions at Cinterna Exhibition Hall in Istanbul in 2016 and at Balaban Art Gallery in 2021. Since 2000, the artist has participated in numerous group exhibitions and continues his artistic practice.
