FIRE
11 - 30 January 2025
Fire whose microscopic traces in wood ash have revealed a history stretching back several million years...
Fire that entered human consciousness nearly five hundred thousand years ago with the discovery of its controlled use...
Fire that, in Ancient Greek mythology, became a symbol of reason after Prometheus stole it from Zeus and gifted it to humanity concealed within a fennel stalk...
Fire whose flames we watch with fascination—whether glowing as embers or evoked through the illusion of an electronic fireplace...
Fire that consumes cities, forests, and villages. Fire that provides warmth and energy, that burns, destroys, and creates. This time, through the paintings of six artists, fire will ignite a blaze that celebrates reason and human consciousness.
The group exhibition “Fire”, featuring works by Aytaç Armağan, Erkan Güler, Emre Acar, Murat Turan, Sami Kurt, and Zehra Başaran, will be on view at GALA Gallery from 11–30 January 2025.
